write with chinese characters

Hello everyone! I'm a French mature student in chinese... very happy. But I would like to know your secret to type directly chinese characters in your comments etc..

My computer (windows XP) can receive them, no problem, but for writing in the specific boxes for posts and comments it doesnt work. More exactly I don't know the way to proceed.I have a kind of system that I've downloaded whitch allows me to write the caracters but just inside the application of its system and  I can't put them out of this system on that site nor in my emails etc..

Could you tell me your secret? Actually I bet it's very easy!! lots of thanks EVELYNE

It is indeed very simple. I used these instructions to get myself started. ^_^
