Helping with Chinese

大家好,

我学普通话两年，可是我的普通话不好。I have been switching between Chinese Pod and supplementing with some texts and Pimsleur Chinese Audio CDs but have seen little success. I can understand small bits of Mandarin TV shows,movies and my future in laws speech, but I find myself shying away from even saying a word in Mandarin. Competency level, I would still say I am a newbie. Does anyone have any helpful tips for learning more immersively and getting over my fear of speaking out loud. Thanks.
