Say It Right Series
speak chinese like a native

看到 & 看见

Posted by publicaccount12 April 29, 2013 in the Group General Discussion.

Good evening / 大家好

As a student of Chinese for more than 5 years, I still find that I have trouble with understanding the differences between 看到 and 看见. I understand that they both mean to see / saw / can see, but I know they are not exactly interchangable (that I am aware of), but most native speakers, even college professors (I am a Chinese major in college) that I ask can't tell me exactly. Obviously, native speakers have an innate knowledge but it is always hard for them to make it explicit.

总之,看到跟看见有什么不同?

Please help!
