Is this correct, or is there a better way to say it:

请注意,我们一个小时以后就到了上海。

I am not sure about how to express "in an hour" in Chinese. Thanks for the help in advance!

There are two phrases that could be translated as "in an hour", depending if you mean "within an hour" or "after an hour". 

within an hour = 一个小时之内

after an hour = 一个小时以后

The example that you gave is correct, but it's saying that "we" will arrive in Shanghai after an hour. If you want to say that "we" will arrive in Shanghai within the hour, you should use the ...之内 construction.

I thought the 了 in the sentence wasn't necessary? I would maybe expect it if it was "以后就要到上海了“, I'm not sure
