Problem with audio on Flashcards

December 17, 2014, 02:26 AM posted in General DiscussionJust wanted to share a little problem I'm having with the Flashcards. I enjoy listening to the audio first, then guessing the meaning, but the audio seems to be quite unstable. Sometimes the words will play automatically, sometimes you'll have to wait a few seconds, and sometimes the audio just doesn't play at all. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this. Anyways, just wanted to let you know of the issue, thanks!

December 27, 2014, 12:40 PMHi Robert, I take it you're using the flashcard app on the website:(https://chinesepod.com/tools/vocab/flashcards)
Are you using the flaschards with the Auto next feature?
Are there any particular words that don't play the audio very well?
I want to help make the flashcard app better but a bit more help with what issues are anoying you, and any features that we could add to make it more usefull for you would be great.

December 27, 2014, 01:08 PMLooking at some of the flaschard vocabulary by clikcing on the drop down menu for the vocab, sometimes it will say that there is "no lessons relating to this word" for that piece of vocab, and consequesntly cannot sounce the audio from our servers. I will add this to Armel's (Head of IT) task list and find out why this happens with certain words.

December 28, 2014, 02:33 AMThanks for you response. No, I'm not using the auto next feature. And I'm only using it on my computer, not on my cellphone, just to clarify.
What happens is that sometimes (maybe 2 cards out of 10), after I click on the check mark or X on a previous FC, the new one will come up, but the audio won't play automatically. So I wait for 5-10 seconds, and after no response I will click on the little sound icon, where it will then play the audio from the previous card, not the new card. When I hit "click to show answer", the new card will appear, without having been able to hear the audio for it.
So that's the problem I'm having in a nutshell. Hope you guys can figure out how to fix it. Thanks again!

December 28, 2014, 03:47 AMAlso, sometimes there's just no audio at all. Click on the sound icon, and still nothing plays.

December 27, 2014, 08:50 AMDidn't get any replies to my last message. I see that operations are being moved over to Taiwan (my neck of the woods!), so you all are probably quite busy, but hope you can find time to resolve this issue, as it can be quite annoying. I'm not the only one with this issue, am I? Or am I the only one that uses the flashcard program?? :P
