February 20, 2008, 03:11 AM posted in General DiscussionHey everybody!
Roll out the red carpet, put on your fake Prada dress, it's time for the First Annual ChinesePod Oscars!
Credit goes to Lustchina for the fantastic idea!
So, this years nominees are for the following categories:
- Best Lesson
- Best Comedy
- Best Drama
- Best Lesson Photo
- Best Supporting User
- Best Lesson Intro
- Best User Avatar
- Best Series
- Best ChinesePod Extras Show
- Best User Post
Submit your vote for each category to chinesepod@gmail.com, with the subject line "Oscars".
We will tally the votes and release them on the Wednesday after Oscar night--February 27, 2008 just to give you some extra time to get in on the voting! The good thing about online Oscars is that you won't be subjected to the long-winded acceptance speeches... however, there should be some good after parties for the winners!
Get your vote in now!!!!!

February 20, 2008, 04:25 AMI have the same question as Dave. So, may I suggest that CPod set a deadline to get all nominees submitted; and then to simplify things, during that week before the Oscars, announce the top 5 nominees of each category (just like the Oscars) and then everyone can vote. What do you guys think?

February 20, 2008, 06:19 AMAny lesson, or within a time period? If it is only within 2007, then DVD Ploy will have to wait for next year for top comedy.

February 20, 2008, 06:43 PMDo the winners get one of those statues? That would be killer. I'd pay good money for one of those.

February 20, 2008, 08:32 PMI think today's lesson has a good chance at the best photo. :)

February 20, 2008, 10:43 PMPerhaps you should invent a new award instead of a modified Oscar trophy. MTV do a Popcorn trophy CPod should do... Any suggestions?
ratatouille
February 20, 2008, 10:54 PMI suggest making a trophy comprised of the four tones \V/ but underlined (to include the first tone) Cpod prestigous Four Tone Award. What do you think?
bazza
February 20, 2008, 11:32 PMOr we could have shaped like the logo?

February 21, 2008, 12:23 AMI would like to nominate Henning for Best User Post for his Grammar Point Series. Tons of work and dedication in this that we can all benefit from.
tvan
February 21, 2008, 04:37 AMSecond on nomination for Henning's grammar post... already has my vote. Bazza, your crazy, creative statue reminds me of some of the unfortunate small animals around here that were a tad slow crossing the road... :-)
