Oh, and it's fifty years now since the inception of Pinyin as I understand from the accompanying article.

Wow, 102 and he is living in Beijing. I was just there, I wonder if he would have accepted a visitor? I would love to ask him some questions. Thank Joachim.

Oh boy I'd love to ask him some questions too, but I wouldn't do it to him. He seems like a nice old bloke who only intended pinyin to be used to help Chinese people, for whom it works fine.
