Question of topics and learning levels.

... would it be possible that some of the upper-elementary, intermediate, and lower advanced lessons also be done in related, multiple newbie/elementary lessons? In looking for business-related topics, I've found that there are few newbie lessons that will help me get past the "hello, how are you" level of conversation. But if the concepts and vocabulary could be broken down in a newbie lesson like way and handled in more than one session, they might not necessarily be something lower level folks - yes, like me - would find unmanageable. And I, for one, would certainly appreciate having them! I'm sure there would be others who would be grateful, as well.

Hmm. Was my post not clear? I'll try again. What I'm hoping for is that some of the topics that are covered in the Intermediate and Advanced levels could also be covered in the Newbie and Elementary levels. If the concepts and vocabulary are too difficult to be handled in one lesson, perhaps they can be broken into multiple related lessons. Would that be possible?

Well, in going through some Newbie lessons, I found some discussion about this in the "I can't sing" session (http://chinesepod.com/lessons/i-cant-sing)... "Todd Hello: I have always enjoyed the podcast and the website, I have been listening since day one. I was wondering though, and perhaps I have missed this, do you think it is possible to have one lesson on a paticualr subject, and take the same lesson from newbie thru advance, on the newbie listens we hear more english interaction between Jenny Zhu and Ken, and then as we switch levels with the same lesson it takes the characteristics of each level till we end in the advance level, that way evey once an awhile you can master a paticular topic from start to finish. If that makes any sense. This is by no means a criticism, I just thought that could be helpful, evey now and then. At any rate keep up the good work. Todd W" "ChinesePod Todd, The idea of the same topic in multiple levels is a good one, and one that we will definitely pursue. It will probably happen over a long period of time, though, so that no one gets sick of one topic. (Can you imagine a whole week on just one topic?) This process has actually already begun; some of the same topics have been done on different difficulty levels." "Alexander I too think multiple lessons on the same topic is a good idea. Actually, I think that an advanced lesson (eg. 中高) can potentially be broken down into 2 or 3 subsequent intermediate lessons where the vocabulary / phrases can be fully explained in greater detail for less advanced listeners."
