Newbie - difference between 中国菜 and 中餐

Hello chinesePod-user,

 

I am a newbie and hope someone will take the time to answer this little question.

What is the difference between:

中国菜 (Zhōngguó cài) and 中餐 (Zhōngcān).

Which one is more used? Or do I miss the point here?

中國菜 literally means Chinese cuisine,but it could mean Chinese food. 中餐 could mean Chinese meal and Chinese food.
