He Loves Me Not

Hi all.  Funny story and quick request.

Ever since the final episode of the college love triangle series, my kids have been singing the Karen Mok song (He Loves Me Not) that was playing in the background as Wang Wei struck out.  They bought it on iTunes and learned all the words.

Now they have decided to sing the song at their school's talent show.  So here's the question.  How can I get rid of the vocals from the file, so they can sing to just the music?  Or is there a karaoke version that would work here in the US?

Thanks for any ideas!

FL Studio might be able to remove lyrics but it's pretty advanced software for one project. ;) http://www.fruityloops.com

You can try Audacity which is a basic, free sound editing tool. Their FAQ has a question about removing vocals to create a karaoke track: Can I remove the vocals from a recording to make a Karaoke track?

Thanks bazza and boran! I've tried Audacity so far (bazza, your use of the word "advanced" scared me off for the moment!), and it didn't do a half bad job. We'll see if it passes muster with the kids! Steve

Yeah, Audacity is pretty good for a freebie. Works for recording songs off Neocha.
