The Canadian Government is matching donations so if you donate $50.00 then they will donate another $50 on top of it. You don't have to be Canadian to donate through this site, you can pay by VISA or Mastercard.
The relief effort has only just begun and it will be a long time before the official clean-up is finished..if it ever truly gets finished. I know that for a lot of people, this will NEVER be finished and will be with them for the rest of their lives.

May 16, 2008, 02:22 PMI my experience, American fund-raising BBQ events serve only chicken, though the servings are often huge (e.g. half a chicken to each person). Chicken is much less expensive and allows more money to be made from the event. Public all-you-can-eat beef or lamb is completely unheard of. American meat is made artificially inexpensive through government interference, but unless the BBQ entry fee was extremely high there would be no profit! Private family or friendly BBQ events vary and might serve beef, chicken, venison, pork, hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages, or anything else. Americans very rarely eat lamb at all. I was 19 the first time I tried it. Some people eat it more often, but it is considered a more exotic meat.
