It was vaguely mentioned that a traditional lesson pdf does exist? How do I find this? Is there a way to make one's personalized vocab list show up in traditional? Thanks.

Hi shalmaneser,

Posts further down the page here talk about traditional PDFs and plug-ins. The plugin, however, doesn't work with Firefox 3.

In your feed you can also subscribe to the traditional PDF. This it the place where you choose what levels you want, whether or not you want Dear Amber, etc.

The two tips that are most useful for me:

  1. When you go to the PDF address, type in "trad" before ".pdf" This gives you the traditional PDF.
  2. If you're using the (to me preferable) html file, type in the pdf address, and overwrite ".pdf" with "trad.html"
As for personalized vocabulary in traditional: sorry, I have no idea. Long ago I started making my own flashcards in iFlash (a program for Mac), and by the time ChinesePod really got going with flashcards and vocabulary lists, I'd invested enough time that I wasn't going back.

There was a discussion comment recently about an add-on for Firefox called Tong Wen Tang (同文堂) that allows switching a web page back and forth between simplified and traditional characters.  It only works on text characters, not images, so it is necessary to use the html version of the pdf files. It can be found at http://tongwen.mozdev.org/.  I routinely use both traditional and simplified, so I find this add-on very helpful.
