What do you guys do at Mason?

What do you guys do at Mason?  Have any of you taken any Chinese classes here?  Do you find that they offer anything beyond what's available here at CPod?

I'll start.... I'm a full-time graduate student in the Computational Science department.  I don't take any Chinese classes, since I already have more than enough on my plate here at CPod. Although, I imagine this may contribute to my lack of knowledge of written Chinese in comparison to my abilities in spoken Mandarin.

Hi Andrew,

I'm not a student, I just live nearby GMU.  I'm taking a Chinese class from Fairfax County (Adult Ed), and I've taken a beginning class from NVCC.  Other than that, it's just CP (newbie and elementary).

Awesome.  I just met the professor of Chinese here and he's really good, you might still want to check out some of the classes they have

Actually it's good timing for you or anyone else to reply to this message. I just joined a newly formed club "Silk Road Culture Club"  We meet Tuesday nights, 5:30 to 6:30 in the bottom floor of SUB 1, to practice speaking Chinese.  I think any local Chinese learner would be welcome. Many of the people involved are actually Chinese language teachers, so it's a really good opportunity for us learners.  There's a facebook group you can join, with the above name, if you want more information.

Hi andrew_c.  Do you guys still have the Silk Road Culture Club on Tuesdays at George Mason?  I'm not sure if I can do it right now, but if it's ongoing, I might be able to adjust my schedule so that I can attend some of the get togethers, if it's allowed.  I'm not a student at the university--although I do go there often to practice martial arts.

Is the group very large and is it primarily for speaking Chinese?
