	26	玛土撒拉生拉麦之后，又活了七百八十二年，并且生儿养女。
	27	玛土撒拉共活了九百六十九岁就死了。
	28	拉麦活到一百八十二岁，生了一个儿子，
	29	给他起名叫挪亚，说，这个儿子必为我们的操作和手中的劳苦安慰我们。这操作劳苦是因为耶和华咒诅地。
	30	拉麦生挪亚之后，又活了五百九十五年，并且生儿养女。
	31	拉麦共活了七百七十七岁就死了。
	32	挪亚五百岁生了闪，含，雅弗。

	3	When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.

	5	Altogether, Adam lived 930 years, and then he died.
	6	When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father of Enosh.
	7	And after he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters.

	9	When Enosh had lived 90 years, he became the father of Kenan.
	10	And after he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters.
	11	Altogether, Enosh lived 905 years, and then he died.
	12	When Kenan had lived 70 years, he became the father of Mahalalel.
	13	And after he became the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters.
	14	Altogether, Kenan lived 910 years, and then he died.
	15	When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he became the father of Jared.
	16	And after he became the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters.
	17	Altogether, Mahalalel lived 895 years, and then he died.
	18	When Jared had lived 162 years, he became the father of Enoch.
	19	And after he became the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
	20	Altogether, Jared lived 962 years, and then he died.
	21	When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah.
	22	And after he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters.
	23	Altogether, Enoch lived 365 years.
	24	Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.
	25	When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he became the father of Lamech.
	26	And after he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters.
	27	Altogether, Methuselah lived 969 years, and then he died.
	28	When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son.
	29	He named him Noah and said, "He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the LORD has cursed."
	30	After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters.
	31	Altogether, Lamech lived 777 years, and then he died.
	32	After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth.

Bazza, really appreciate you 回复ing this group. As you know, I read the Bible in both Chinese and English every day, so this helps motivate me, especially the Chinese reading.

I just happened to do a study on this genealogy(家谱 jiāpǔ) on the generations who lived on earth between 亚当(Adam) and 挪亚(Noah). I know that at first glance genealogies in the Bible can be a bit boring, but there is a lot of interesting information here, and stuff you wouldn't see if this was just made up, such as years till death diminishing due to the fall of creation. What doesn't get translated from the Hebrew is the meaning. Even if you go to a lexicon, they usually don't translate proper names. Interesting to see the meaning of all the Hebrew names put together of the genealogy:

Chinese	Hebrew Pronunciation	Meaning
亚当 yà dāng	adomah (Adam)	means "man"
塞特 sài tè	seth (Seth)	means "appointed"
以挪士 yǐ nuó shì	enosh (Enosh)	means "mortal," "frail," or "miserable"
玛勒列 gāi nán	kenan (Kenan)	means "sorrow," "dirge," or "elegy"
玛勒列 mǎ lè liè	mahalael (Mahalalel)	*mahala* means "blessed" or "praise"; el means the name for God
雅列 yā liè	yared (Jared)	from the verb *yaradh, meaning "shall come down.*"
以诺 yǐ nuò	enoch (Enoch)	means "commencement," or "teaching."
玛土撒拉 mǎ tǔ sǎ lā	muthshalach (Methuselah)	*muth* is a root that means "death"; *shalach, which means "to bring," or "to send forth*"
拉麦 lā mài	lamech (Lamech)	a root still evident today in our own English word, "lament" or "lamentation."
挪亚 nuó yà	noah (Noah)	which is derived from *nacham, "to bring relief" or "comfort*"

So, taking the meanings of all these names (and finding an easy way to remember them) we have:

亚当 (Adam)	==> Man (is)
塞特 (Seth)	==> Appointed
以挪士 (Enosh)	==> Mortal
该南 (Kenan)	==> Sorrow; (but)
玛勒列 (Mahalalel)	==> The Blessed God
雅列 (Jared)	==> Shall come down
以诺 (Enoch)	==> Teaching
玛土撒拉 (Methuselah)	==> His death shall bring
拉麦 (Lamech)	==> The Despairing
挪亚 (Noah)	==> Comfort, Rest

Thus, which I find really cool, and kind find things like this all through out the Bible, is that we have the whole message of the Bible/the Gospel i.e. God's plan:

Man is appointed mortal. Sorrow...BUT the blessed God shall come down, teaching. His death shall bring the despairing comfort and rest.

Just a guess...Methuselah is recognized as being the longest lived person. His father was Enoch who is one of the couple of people who bypassed death and was taken directly by God.

I've found a pinyin version, so I'll add the pinyin as well. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be any way to edit a lesson once it's posted without posting it again and deleting the original.

There are plenty of explinations on the religious words. These books are for the intermediate lavel chinese learner.
