GREAT DICTIONARY-CHECK IT OUT!

An amazing dictionary that I bought is the "Pocket Mandarin Chinese Dictionary." It has both Chinese-English and English-Chinese. It contains the 3,000 most commonly used words in the language, which I find useful because it allows you to focus on the foundations of the language and essential vocabulary. Usually, if I want to say something and I don't know how, the word will be in this dictionary. Rarely do I need to use words that are not in this book.  Check it out!

I have another one that i like, a practical english-Chinese dictionary. The nice thing with that one is that each word is given with several example sentences. Makes it easy to get the usage of the word. many words can be used in many different ways so this is important i think.

Maybe not a real dictionary but i alsolove this book,Empire of Living Symbols The book tells the story behind many characters. When understanding that it is so much easier to remember new wharacters. The author explains many radicals how they have evolved etc. Her books is actualy popular amongs archeologists in China since it summon their study in an good way. I have actualy been to some of her lectures, she is very good in talking about Chinese history as well.
