We've been heavily focused on developing listening activities in recent months. However, we're not done yet. We've got lots of ideas and some talented people who want to make your life easier.

I've blogged about the listening process, as I see it, over at the Praxis blog and I'm very keen to hear your opinions. Feel free to start pile in.

Henning and Erika (?) had an interesting suggestion on one of the lesson threads last week: audio drills that focus on specific grammar points or patterns and build up sentence complexity bit-by-bit. I could see this being really useful for reinforcing correct sentence order, especially with prepositional phrases..

I think we can continue to innovate our audio offerings. This sounds like an interesting possibility, but, as ever, we need to ensure it's based on what marketers call 'voice of customer'.

Drills. Ouch! Reminds me of dentists, Marathon Man, and the torture of the old audio-lingual classroom.

The News and Fix are great features; however I have tons of problems working with Vocab. Often, I even have to shut down then re-engage. That’s inexcusable. Way more important to me than new features right now.

I don´t know if it fits in this topic, but I already postet a request on the subject of a livechat. if that would be possible (at best with the possibility of using a micro to talk to everone there) I and all the others that left comments there would really be suuuuper happy about that.

executer, imagine what we could do with a audio-chat / web-conferencing feature: We could make our own Saturday show! A live-gathering of the community each Saturday at...???...o'clock... (But to get back to earth: Although I have not Ron's problem - vocab works stabel for me - he has a point. Rhere is still some backlog to be worked through).

It got late. That last part was riddled with mistakes. It should have looked more like (But to get back to earth: Although I do not have Ron's problems - vocab works stable for me - he has a point. There is still some backlog to be worked through).

Hi trevelyan, everyone, Yeah, I think that anything C-Pod can provide in terms of helping us bridge the gaps would be terrific. The qing wen section is a great start on common grammar patterns and word usages. What I found from my university classes is that studying six grammar patterns and 50 vocab words a week meant that at the end of the week, I could regurgitate 6 patterns and 50 vocab words, but that they wouldn't stick and I had no idea how to actually USE the patterns. And usually had no chance to do so, unless I bribed my husband to help me in exchange for him getting to play more video games. I'm not sure how you'd translate the sentence building game Simon and I sometimes play into C-Pod's format, but that's truthfully the kind of stuff I need more of.. the new Fix will help with that some by letting me practice building simple sentences and repeating vocab.
