I'm going to visit a Chinese friend in her new appartment this weekend and would like to bring her a gift. I was wondering if there're any traditions for bringing house warming gifts in China and what people would bring. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help! Just reading the comments on the show was enough. I got a couple of spare sets of Uno last time I was in Italy so I'll give her one of those and some traditional Danish Christmas food.

By the way do teachers often get presents from their pupils in China? Today one of my pupils, a little girl from Beijing, gave me and my colleague each a very nice gift which is not something we're accustomed to receiving from pupils.
