So I'm in Phoenix, Arizona and am up at 1 in the morning studying Chinese.

Am I the only Chinese freak out there? Or are their others with strange Chinese studying habits?

Well, yesterday, I studied for about 8 hours until 3.30a.m. - but I don't think my retention rate was particularly good towards the end;)

In fact, I prefer working/studying at night, too bad I have to get up at 6 again.

But like you, I could never have imagined that a language could be *this* captivating...

...You are not alone...(I know, sounds cheesy.)

Strange studying habits?  You mean like coming home, turning on the computer, checking out Cpod's website first, then proceeding to everything else?  Nope.  No strange habits here.

I do, however, watch CCTV-E (spanish chinese station) telenovelas.  I think maybe this is a little strange. Does anyone else watch these?  I listen to them speak in mandarin and try (fruitlessly) to ignore the spanish text at the bottom of the screen.  I don't know spanish, but sometimes it is helpful because I recognize the cognates.  Does anyone else watch these?  Right now I'm on "perfecto".
