February 07, 2009, 04:06 PMBeing a bagua practitioner and having practiced with some tai ji guys before, this very much looks like a tai ji push hands competition. However, it doesn't appear like they are able to throw each other but rather just try to get their opponent off balance and out of the ring.

February 08, 2009, 03:48 PMIt´s a Taiji competition - shown here is the Huo Bu push hands where it´s allowed to throw,to push,to sweep and to grab without using the thumb or by only using the thumb (grab and pull).
If your hands touch the ground- 2 points for the other one.
If you fall and the oponent is standing- 1 point for the oponent.
If you´re standing in and the other one is out of the ring- 1 point for you.
If both fall or are out of the ring it doesn´t count.
The women with the darker hair has won...
I did my 19 step Hand form and the ding bu pushhands (you make a step you loose).

The man did throw and sweept a lot...but I didn´t film it...man how I regret not filming that...what a nice brawl...
