i´m not sure if my question exactly suits this groups purpose but i hope someone can help me out.
I would like to buy a "translation pen" which can recognise chinese characters and translate them into english or german. I haven´t found it in europe yet, but i guess something like this does exist in China. No? I already asked a chinese friend who normaly helps me with this kind of problems, but as it seems he is not reachable now, so i thought i just ask you guys for advice. Anyone who already worked with such a pen? Maybe there is an internet site where i can have a "look a look a".
Thanks!

February 24, 2009, 05:55 PMHi changye,
thank you very much for your response. Your hint with the OCR Software helped me a lot. I always knew something like this existed but i didn´t know that it was called OCR Readers.
Concerning the translation pen I´m gonna search for goulniky´s thread as í´m not able to speak Japanese.

I think I saw them in sky mall magazine on the plane too. They have an online magazine.

I only know this one, but unfortunately this portable translator is only for Japanese. It can translate Chinese (traditional and simplified) and English words into Japanese.

I remember goulniky discussed the topic in other thread before, but I just can't find it. If my memory serves me right, there are only OCR readers (Chinese to English) that are used with PC now, although I'm not familiar with the newest info about this.
