Taking mobility for granted

I was walking on my way to work, wading through downtown Chicago traffic, passing by the Mercantile Exchange, amidst the morning traffic... listening to Chinesepod and learning Chinese, wondering how cool it was to have CPod and technology merge to allow me to do even do that.

Gotta love it.

I know what you mean David.Very cool.Yeah,I'd love to be able to sit on the moon and have superhuman vision and perception and get a snapshot of all the people listening to CPod and in what circumstances[it may be particularly amusing to see Poddies pass each other/sit next to each other on a bus without realising they're both listening to the same thing].There was an interesting thread a while back where people discussed the most unusual places/circumstances they've listened to CPod.My favourite was underwater.I'd like to do it during space travel [and then report back to earth with my new Chinese lingo],but can't see it happening even though space tourism is emerging[but alas, only for the super rich of course].

I love this observation. I  think mobility is a really big issue  because it allows people to learn wherever they wish. 'Learning on your terms' describes the bigger vision for us: to give the learner control over the learning and take it wherever he/she will.
