Creating a post to say hi and introducing yourself is fine, we welcome new users who want to help others whilst simultaneously improving their own language skills.
Please remember it is best when THESE THINGS PROGRESS NATURALLY. There is no need to leave comments all over the site with email/contact details - this is regarded as spam.
Alternatively you are free to Private Message (PM) those you've become friendly with and would like to further communicate with.
This way, the users have the choice whether or not to reply to your PMs, or block them.
Be aware that if multiple complaints are received regarding a user's PMs, the user will be banned from PMing.
@Urcto's group called 'Correction' is a great example of people helping each other out - a perfect example of natural language exchange.
Quality is of paramount importance to us. We aim to offer superior quality services, and moderate the community in order to maintain a high standard of language assistance.
Being a native speaker doesn't automatically make someone an expert in that language, thus our highly qualified teachers and academic developers are able to ensure that you are receiving correct languistsic assistance within the community.
We also provide experienced, qualified, professional teachers in our Guided and Executive plans, if paying for 1 on 1 instruction is within your budget, I suggest you try out this service.
There have been cases where people are led away for language exchange and then asked to pay for language instruction.
Whilst we welcome competition, we would be silly to assist competition.
As for the business strategies of the company, these are handled by our executive team.
I am the Product Manager of ChinesePod, and is is my duty to you, our dear Poddies to do my utmost to ensure your ChinesePod experience is of the highest quality. I have given this issue a lot of thought and although many people mean well - we have to have clear policies that ensure quality is maintained. Thank you.

March 24, 2009, 10:15 AMHi, SunnyBaby
Maybe the first laowai to contact you is the website's administer and he will send you a message about your vilolation of the rules that exchange language privately is banned in this commercial websit.
There is no free lunch across the world.
I think no one would like to write to you to agree to your offer. I Know you are eager to improve English, but they laowai maybe argue that you are taking advantage of them.

March 26, 2009, 04:21 AMHi,
Do not mention it.(不客气)
Maybe 10-month Chinese education in Taiwan have cultivated you of the sense of speaking Chinese.
You have writen such a great number of Chinese characters to compose an article with few errors.
Admittedly, your Chinese is nearly approaching the native speakers in China and is so good that you may get a part-time job for teaching Chinese to those English-speaking who never contact with Chinese language but are interested in Chinese culture.
I believe that if you keep learning and practising Chinese, you will be a 中国通 in 1 years. I can help you accelerate the process by my revising and polishing your saying and essay and reach your aim that speaking Chinese is just like a native of China.
I am determined to do that. And are you ready for it?
According to a high standard of Chinese composition, I have revised your essay below.

March 26, 2009, 05:00 AM北京强,thanks again, and below is a returned favour.
Do not mention it. also no problem, not at all.
Maybe 10-month Chinese education in Taiwan have cultivated you of the sense of speaking Chinese.
Perhaps the ten months you spent in taiwan has given you a greater understanding of spoken chinese.
You have writen such a great number of Chinese characters to compose an article with few errors.
You wrote a long comment in chinese with few errors.
Admittedly, your Chinese is nearly approaching the native speakers in China and is so good that you may get a part-time job for teaching Chinese to those English-speaking who never contact with Chinese language but are interested in Chinese culture.
I must admit that your chinese is almost at the level of a native speaker. It is so good that you could get a job teaching chinese to english speaking foreigners interested in chinese culture and language . (thank you for your praise, but it's far from the truth)
I believe that if you keep learning and practising Chinese, you will be a 中国通 in 1 years. I can help you accelerate the process by (my) revising and polishing your saying and essay and reach your aim that speaking Chinese is just like a native of China.
I can help you accelerate your learning by revising and polishing your essays so that you may reach your goal of attaining the level of a native speaker.
I am determined to do that. And are you ready for it?
According to a high standard of Chinese composition, I have revised your essay below.
I have revised your comment below in accordance with a high standard of chinese.
thank you for your sincerity and generosity. however, this site is not an appropriate place for language exchange, and i think it's against company policy.
i teach english all day long, and to be quite honest i don't have the time or the motivation to help people with their english in my spare time.
thanks again, and i'm sorry if i have dissapointed you.
