Hi,excuter.I am a chinese.I don't see the English setences,but I think the chinese maybe is"唯一的理由,因为时间就是使一切从不发生-安德鲁杰克逊(美国的第七位总统)。Generally speraking We don't say like that :"第七位总统的 美国(THe seventh President of American)"but "美国的第七位总统(The American's Seventh President)" I hope you post the English sentence here then I translate it into chinese.

after I looked the qute up again (it´s quite some time since posting this...) I have to correct myself because this isn´t from Andrew Jackson, but from Albert Einstein. In english it´s: “The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once.” My new try to translate it would be this: 时间唯一的是所以一切不发生在一起。

And my try to translate it is: 时间的唯一理由就是一切都不是立即发生的。

happen:发生 fa1 sheng2 at once ：立即 li4 ji4

ChinesePerakun says 立即 = immediately so I don´t know about the use of li4 ji4, but it sounds good to my non-native reading-ears ;-)

Generally ,at once = immediately =立刻 li4ke4 = 立即 li4ji4

I really like these exercises too. Correct sentence construction is always a challenge for me. Thanks!
