Hakka

June 11, 2009, 01:18 PM posted in General DiscussionI'd be interested in learning a few basic words and phrases of Hakka, so I can impress my parents-in-law.
It's not really essential, I guess. We're communicating fairly well between Mandarin and Indonesian. I just thought it might make an amusing party trick or something.
From what I've heard, it sound similar to Cantonese.
Any help would be appreciated.

You could really impress them by rattling off a few lines of poetry. There are a few examples here.
Even if not now, someday!
