Hope everyone's doing well. I'm a student in an intensive language program in Beijing this Summer who, in about three weeks, will be afforded a week off to travel in China. While not set in stone, my plan so far calls for spending the week in Shanghai with trips to both Hangzhou and Suzhou.
I'm not at all the partying, club/rave/whatever-going type; I'm mostly interested in places of historical/contemporary significance and places of beauty. Also just random fun things to do and see. So with that said, I welcome everyone's recommendations on things to do and see in these three cities.
谢谢你们~

On the grounds that I like your avatar, and that I don't like seeing requests unanswered I'll give you my view. Skip Shanghai (although that is difficult), base yourself in Hangzhou and make day trips to Suzhou (to see the gardens) and to Shanghai (maybe for coffee at Jamaica Blue, or tea at a tea-house if you are in to that kind of thing.) Hangzhou has more to offer than you could possibly absorb in a week.
