　　妻子在试衣镜前试衣，回头问丈夫：“好看吗？”
　　丈夫把视线从报纸上移开，瞥了她一眼，没吭声。
　　妻子生气地说：“你倒是说话呀！马克吐温说过：‘一句称赞的话，可以让我活两个月。’你怎么就不试着说几句赞美的话？”
　　丈夫立即回答：“那你想活多久？”

 (Not sure I fully understand this one.)

Oh right, I see. The Mark Twain (马克吐温) quote there is: "I can live for two months on a good compliment."

在试衣镜前试衣 is an interesting construction, is 试衣 duplicated because of the reflection?

试衣镜 is simply a noun. not sure what's it in English. Dressing mirror, right?

Ah ok. Not sure if there is a English term, probably just full length mirror or something.
