Hi!

I have to translate a headling which says: 飛利浦的 "花活"

Can anybody tell me what the apostrophized part means?

The part before seems to refer to the company Philips.活。。can mean to live or alive.So I wonder if it somehow refers to Philips.Live :

..not sure how 花 meaning flower [or could it be the spending money meaning?],quite fits in though.

@inemuri, I was a little bit confused by this "花活", are you sure there is nothing wrong with the characters?

Literally,"花活" means "gingerbread","be flashy without substance","something have good appearance but not substantial".
But when i searched "飞利浦 花活" at www.baidu.com ,I found this webpage“http://finance.sina.com.cn/roll/20090918/22366769655.shtml”. In this content, i think it's not a derogatory term, it's mean that Philips's product have a lot of new features which make it looks like "flowery".

You can translate it as "Various Function".

At first thanks to everyone for helping me!!

Yes, it`s from an article about Philips. I think leonlau81_cn`s explanation fits the best, because in the article several new products and their features are mentioned. 

I think I will translate it as "Philips diversity" if it`s ok with you?

What about "Philips new tricks"? Maybe it's not so formal  :)
