Tips on making the best use of Anki?

I've just downloaded Anki after hearing many good things about it. It looks very useful but I'm unsure as to how to use. Are there any sneaky tips or exceptionally useful buttons I can use to make the most of Anki? Also, about the graphs; does anyone use those? I thought they looked useful but I'm not sure how to interprete them... I've also managed to inport my ChinesePod vocab into Anki but not sure what 'settings' to use/click before I save them. Perhaps there's an online guide to Anki I don't know about? Anyway, I'll leave my questions in your hands for now :)

Anki is a little confusing to set up - it's certainly not obvious what you're supposed to do.

There's some instructions here:

http://blog.chinesepod.com/2009/03/18/new-export-functionality-for-chinesepod/

This can be applied to any text file containing chinese.

The Pinyin Toolkit plugin is also handy.

You certainly don't need to look at the graphs, but I quite like them. They're explained on the Anki website.

Thank you sebire ^.^ That's helped a lot. I'll be sure to check back on the Anki website for more info about the graphs etc.
