Street signs

Where I live, street signs often have a little bit of local history written below.  

东风西路 runs north south; it is further broken up into 东风西路北 and 东风西路南。Further east 东风东路 also runs north south; it is also broken up into 东风东路北 and 东风东路南.  Helpfully, the signs also give distances to the next major intersection or landmark.
