yeah. I have followed the instructions on John's blog to transfer my CPod vocab en masse to my desktop anki but what I was trying to do is then transfer it en masse so it could be used on line if I want to review it elsewhere. Thanks for trying to help mate, but I've just got it working thanks to daniel70's advice below.

January 23, 2010, 01:56 PMI think what you want is a synchronized deck. Go to settings->Deck Properties. Click the Synchronization tab. Select synchronize this deck. Type a name for the deck on the server. Click Close. Then close your deck. Anki should synchronize with the web database. Log into your anki online account. Your deck should be available to study.

daniel70,
Thanks heaps for that mate.Your advice was spot on and easy to follow. Thanks for saving me a heap of time.Initially I had logged on to the online site and thought I had to do it through the sharing tab which I now realise was probably just there for sharing with others. So anyhow, thanks again for setting me straight :)

January 26, 2010, 11:49 AMMy next task is to try and work out how to get anki running on my iPhone.I suppose I should just try and read the manual thoroughly but if anyone has a quick tip,I'd really appreciate it :)

Sorry, I don't have an iPhone either.

January 26, 2010, 02:23 PMI don't have an iPhone. There appears to be a plug-in here.
The anki newsgroup is also a useful resource.

Thanks again Daniel. Actually anki works fine just by going online on the iPhone but I did read somewhere something about having it installed on the iPhone [circumventing the need to go online I presume..though maybe it will have to, to some degree for syncing...dunno] so I'll have to check out your link. Thanks again mate. :)

January 27, 2010, 07:44 AMActually the fact that this offline anki plugin for the iPhone is not a standard iPhone app available through itunes and that it reassures by saying:
Jailbreaking your iPhone is NOT necessary
..makes someone like me who is not tech savvy a little nervous to implement the changes in those instructions.Has anyone got this anki plugin installed on their iPhone? if so any problems?

January 23, 2010, 09:15 AMDo you mean, for example, transferring your CPod vocabulary en masse for use on anki rather than adding the words individually ?
