Random sentence translation requests

I thought it would be good to have a topic for random sentence translation requests, that are not related to any particular lesson.

For example: "Does my bum look big in this?"  ;)

PS. I'm not offering to translate them (unless they're easy stuff ;) ) and sorry Amber if this gives you more work. :)

Hi Bazza and TaiPan, It's an interesting question to come from you two guys. I will be looking forward to your visits so I can judge for myself, haha! OK, so I've had to act out the two situations you asked about to Connie, and I think she got my drift, after a lot of gestures and pointing to the bum. Here are the translations: 穿这个我的屁股看起来大吗? (Chuān zhège wǒ de pìgu kàn qilai dà ma?) Does my bum look big in this? 穿这个会让我的屁股看起来大吗? (Chuān zhège huì ràng wǒ de pìgu kàn qilai dà ma?) Does this make my bum look big?

@Leviathan, you're quite right, I think. Foot and mouth disease (or hoof and mouth disease) is 口蹄疫, where as 手足口病 is the Cox virus. 口蹄疫 is in the dictionary correctly, and I submitted a change for 手足口病 (remember, it's a collaborative dictionary, so you can submit those changes too!)

this would be a useful service if it was searchable, or at least the topic was easily retrieved as I indicated in another post there's no such feature it seems.

Hi guys. Just for the record, the "hand-foot-mouth disease" is due to the COXSACKIE virus, not cox virus (sorry for the bold type; I can't underline or italicize.) And, yes, it only affects children. I don't know about "hoof and mouth" as I am not a vet doc : )

Bazza, I think your sentence would be a great Qing Wen topic... What's the Chinese difference between: "Does my bum look big in this?" and "Does this make my bum look big?" Grammatically, what's the difference? Is this a shi...de construction? ...and how do you say, "No you insecure cow, your big bum makes your bum look big!"?

A raver is someone who likes to attend raves. ;) Wikipedia defines a rave as follows: A rave (or rave party) is an all-night dance event where DJs and other performers play rave music and other types of electronic dance music for dancers, with the accompaniment of colored lights, projected images, and laser effects. I've never really been to a proper one myself but I really like the style of music they play. Looks like 'raver' is 锐舞者 in Chinese.

Thanks, I tried it on Facebook's Human Pets, you get extra points for thumbs up on messages. For some reason it wouldn't post the whole sentence though, so I just put 给我翘拇指 in the end. Got 4 thumbs up so far. :)
