This thread can be for nominating the archived Intermediate lesson each Wednesday for the group to study and discuss. The actual discussion of the lesson should still take place in the usual lesson discussion tab [not here].

For some of the Intermediate lessons I think it may be a good idea to start working through some of the lessons that go_manly has provided transcripts for...for me this is another untapped excellent resource right at our fingertips. But as I've said in the group introduction it doesn't matter and is on a first in first served basis...what matters is that it'll be nice to have a group on the same page.So whaddya reckon poddies? ..worth a go?

I for one think this is a great idea.  One of the attractions of a new lesson (apart from the benefit of our ChinesePod writers/producers/presenters greater experience) is that others are looking at it as well and the conversations help the learning process.  Now we can have the benefit of the archive as well as the sparkling conversation.  :)

I recommend the lesson

Regional Accents

We are about to hear a series on the Shanghai accent - this lesson kind of introduces us to a few accents including what is heard in Shanghai.

BTW - is there an easy way to search lessons by date?

A great suggestion mate.I like it...let's go for it.Perhaps this can make up for not having one yesterday....and next Wednesday someone can nominate a lesson as soon as Wednesday's usual lesson has been published [or does everyone think that's a daft way to manage it?....I personally thought that it would be best to limit it to one lesson per level per week and to have them evenly spaced a week apart to make things more manageable...so poddies can fit it into their schedule...we already have the lucky dip of levels in the newly published lessons.

hmm,I tried to edit that and it didn't work. Here's what I wanted to add:

An excellent suggestion mate...inspired [yeah, with the upcoming series on regional accents],this is a perfectly timed lesson to revive].I like it...let's go for it.Perhaps this can make up for not having one yesterday....and next Wednesday someone can nominate a lesson as soon as Wednesday's usual lesson has been published [or does everyone think that's a daft way to manage it?....I personally thought that it would be best to limit it to one lesson per level per week and to have them evenly spaced a week apart to make things more manageable...so poddies can fit it into their schedule...we already have the lucky dip of levels in the newly published lessons.

Here's the link to that lesson:

Note, there is a follow up lesson:

As for the date thing...not specifically by date that I know of. At the bottom of the lesson tab there are page numbers going back to 178 and the pages are in chronological number,so you can kinda guess where the dates will roughly fall by jumping around. Trouble is that only the numbers of the latest few pages and the oldest few are displayed,so it takes quite a bit of jumping. It probably needs a "show full list" button on that page as it does for the individual levels. It's much easier to navigate to the date within a level.

Thanks Barbs, I did the lesson (it doesn't take long), left a post. This group has a lot going for it - good idea!

Yeah, it would be better if there was a published date beside the lesson like there is in your podcaster.
