September 09, 2007, 05:36 AMTo follow up on something AZERDocMom hit on. Although I noticed the IC blog shortly after it came out, I sometimes feel there are too many communication channels for CPod. Conversations... Lesson comments... Extra/News... Ken's Praxis Blog posts (has Ken stopped blogging?)... IC Blog... Newbie and other Blog... Comments on all various blogs... plus the user run Chinese Pod Forum. If I don't notice something in a feed soon after it's posted, I'll never see it. If I want to go back and find a comment, searching is difficult if not impossible. Am I missing something about web 2.0 that makes all this easier, not harder?

September 09, 2007, 09:19 AMDoes anyone know of a way to compare one's Chinese progress to a university curriculum? Maybe samples of Integrated Chinese online? I would love to know what a second year student learns as a means of comparison.

September 09, 2007, 09:57 AMAlso I agree with above post. There should be a way to search Conversation posts. I just tried to start a post about the HSK and it turned out the title was already taken; I had to manually search through a few pages to find the conversation that had already been started about the HSK.

September 09, 2007, 10:51 AMRe searching conversations: somewhere someone from admin has hinted that they're working on the searching. For now, I've found that if you're looking for a specific thread, you'll be much better served by going through Google. Just search for ChinesePod and a string of words that relate to the thread. Throwing in a name like Henning or Bazza can also help. (There's probably a more elegant way to do this, but I don't know what it'd be.) Suggestion for ChinesePod, which has been made before: on the new and wonderful home page (which I'm actually using again! Since the changeover a few months back, I'd stayed clear of the home page in favour of RSS feeds or bookmarks), add another little box below "Lesson Conversations" for "Other Conversations."

September 09, 2007, 04:17 AMJohn May I suggest that the link to the IC blog be featured more prominently on the homepage somewhere. It's a shame that all that work you and Dave are putting into it appears not to have been noticed much thus far.
