i just signed on as a basic user and then browsed around to see what else was on the website. When i went to look at grammer or vocab section, i was encouraged to upgrade my account status paying an extra $ amount. Question is, is this worthwhile to do? Can anyone give me any feedback on the benefit of upgrading? Many thanks, and wishing you all very happy learning times.

There was a 1 or 2 week free trial period that I used a while back that I think still exists.

The various subscription types are given in a chart at http://chinesepod.com/help/Services%20&%20Payment/subscription-types (requires JavaScript). You can look at the features available at each level and decide if it's worth it for you. For me, the Dialog and Expansion lesson tabs make premium worthwhile, because they reinforce listening comprehension. The other premium features, not so much, although the Grammar Guide is potentially very valuable, but still a work in progress poorly integrated into the rest of the site.

I also always work through Expansion and Exercises. Besides those "The Fix" has become one of the most important Premium Features for me, as it works like a "Expansion - mobile edition".

i find premium great because of the fix, QingWen and dialog flash buttons, and the community is very helpful. I don't use the exercises too much. They are too small, and like there need to be an accessibility option, or somthing or nothing... like how this flash site allows me to use my mouse wheel to zoom in without distortion of words. http://www.visuwords.com/

Once you do the premium, you'll never look back. Too many resources want anything less.
