五毛党 at CPod?

I just learned from a Chinese friend about the 五毛党:

A classmate of him got the following type of job: He gets paid for registering in in internet forums in order to spread the official policies and defend the government . Because each post is supposedly paid 50 cent (五毛), these guys are commonly refered to as  五毛党 in China. I guess that would be "viral propaganda".

I wonder if some of the unmotivated political entries popping up here once in a while can be attributed to the 五毛党?

henning,

I was interested in "unmotivated".Are you perceiving that they are just doing a job for the money and don't have their heart in it/mean what they say? [if so,how did you pick up on that vibe?]..or were you trying to say something else?

Awesome...How do we apply for one of these Jobs? :)

I wonder how they verify each post? Do they pay someone to then check the posts?

When the rumor was spreaded out over a thousand times,it became a truth.

The government will delete any comment that is "against" its image. For instance, try to say something like"The Chinese government has severe corruption problems",and not only your comments will be deleted maybe you will be put into jail as well.

Please someone tell me how much a 五毛党 can make a month? Fortunately, I have plenty of time for posting comments at night ...........

这是让我想起来以前在澳大利亚“cash for comments affair":
