Hi jennyteen

No, Chinese is a relatively easy language to learn, especially at the early stage of learning. Chinese is grammatically very simple compared to some other languages such as Russian. The biggest difficulty for beginners is to memorize Chinese characters, but actually it's easier than people usually imagine, on the contrary, you would find great pleasure in learning the characters, which have a very long history. I'm not sure I agree it's relatively easy! But it is a lot of fun, and is the world's most spoken language...

Try a few of the (free!) newbie podcasts and see what you think, is my advice :)

Hi Jennyteen...

If you'd love to learn Chinese, I think you should jump right into it! I started studying my second language when I was in high school, and I think that's a great time of life to take on a new language.

Chinese isn't easy for everyone, but it is interesting, and if you are interested in learning something, half the battle is already won! Speaking Chinese is becoming more and more useful in the business world, and could really help you land a good job in a couple years!
