A Sample sentence from the Grammar Guide: 相信我，这么多年了，我心里一直只有你一个。 (Trust me, for all these years, you've always been the only one in my heart.) What does the 一个 add to the meaning?

"一个" refers to ”一个人“. It adds the meaning of "one and only".
