more than one formation method

Using yellowbridge, it's interesting to note that some characters have more than one formation method. Apparently they're not mutually exclusive. I'm interested in this example and any light anyone can shed:

..which apparently is both an associative compound and pictophonetic. I guess the upshot here is that the phonetic is not only contributing sound but also meaning. A nifty little trick I like to see.
