Upper elementary category

December 30, 2011, 09:10 PM posted in General DiscussionI have been using cpod for a while. I have exhausted the newbies and now the elementary lessons. However, I am finding it rather abrupt a change to move to intermediate (much more so than the jump from newbie to ele). The problem is that elementary lessons do not really prepare one for following long dialogues.
I think cpod needs an "Upper elementary" category. The lessons in this category should have long dialogues like the intermediate (play it once only), but then the hosts provide a translation. The discussions between the hosts could be a mix of chinese and english, but a bit more of english than the intermediate level.

Yeah, there's been plenty of discussion over the years. In the end, i'm not sure where Cpod is with all that. I don't recall Cpod announcing the creation of an upper elementary series for 2012, but that doesn't mean that one is in the works. I've asked for a roadmap in the past with no success.

December 30, 2011, 10:27 PMThe good thing about this is that you are not alone, so firstly it's normal, and secondly it means that it has been discussed at length numerous times before. That means that if you google for it, you should be able to find a few previous discussions on it here with lots of helpful tips. The latest intermediate lesson I think may partly address this also, though I'm not sure. Finally, there is a "transcripts with tal" group which has done lots of transcripts of the intermediate lessons which should help. I hope you get some fresh responses also. Good luck mate :)
