Thanks. I don't think I will be learning how to write hanzi with a pen, to be honest, at least not any time soon. So you have a point there. The only time I will need to know the characters is to read and type it on the 'puter as you say, so I think you're right, it shouldn't be an issue. Thanks!

Hi CPODer's! 

I have one question... when I hear the dialogue, or when I say it myself, I can really only picture the pinyin..you know like in English when you talk you picture the words. Well for Chinese, I can only picture the pinyin, not the characters per se. Is this a bad thing? Will it make it harder to learn the hanzi itself?
