I just started using ChinesePod ("newbie"), some comments:
1) Why using hanzi that were not part of the conversation/lesson? I'm not a true "newbie", so I could get thru them. But, would be surprised if any true beginner could do the hanzi portion of the quizes. It's almost a separate effort to use them, and makes the pace too slow for most.
2) bad navigation - I mark lessons as read/done, want to return to the list of unread lessons in that level, I have to return to the home screen, choose the level. Then, can't see any indication of what is/isn't completed. Have to open the lesson to see that?
3) Good visuals (wouldn't stay without them). Right length and good explanation.
