This brings back memories of 1972, when I built the first coin laundry in Japan, in Kokubunji, suburban Tokyo.

One thing missing -- assuming China shares the superstition with Japan: you can't dry laundry by leaving it out on the window-ledge overnight: wicked spirits will infest it.

ThhinkBuddha,

Good work!

Back in the Sixties, when the Red Guards were in the streets, there were all sorts of rumours about how the writing reforms were going to have heavy duty ideological content. E.g. "Peasant" was going to be written as 人 and 力, and presumably America was going to have the glyph "imperialist monster" or some such. :-)

Has any of this in fact taken place?

Is there any way of fast forwarding past all the talk about what you're about to talk about?
