September 3, 2016 at 12:22 AMIn the sentence 我的衣服比她的好看吧, what purpose does the 的 have? Are there other ways to say this? I often have trouble trying to understand how to say the verb "to be" in Chinese or when to omit it. I imagine this 的 doesn't literally translate to "to be" in this case, but it's hard to imagine what else it could be!

July 15, 2016 at 2:03 AMI'm on the same boat! I just completed 80 elementary lessons. Now I'm alternating: one elementary and one intermediate every day (ideally). I don't understand most of what is said, but I think this will get better soon. Try not to stay in the comfort zone too much!
