June 1, 2018 at 8:13 AMI just got feedback by my (native) Chinese teacher (staying in Dalian), that
"The two new ladies especially the older have strong Taiwan accent, which means some tones are different from Mandarin, it also causes some problem. It seems they didn't speak very fluently. But considring it is a real conversation. it is ok."
Perhaps this is something which should be taken into account, too.

May 31, 2018 at 8:18 PMYep, I get uncomfortable seeing these two women interacting. It was not a simple 1st-time between two guys not familiar with each other, but more some kind of domination fight.
For sure the way of ChinesePod must be communicated. As mentioned, having a valid lesson is more than only taking snippets from political topics. The ChinesePod lessons were giving me the full learning experience. This lesson was only some kind of slower news-reader. I do not even really know what I can do with these vocabs if I would start to learn them. I barely know the names of most of my local politicians. Knowing foreign politicians names in Chinese? Come on.

May 31, 2018 at 8:02 PMI fully agree with zhangyanglu152, Dashu25 and Llorente.
I appreciate to have first new lesson after more than 5 months off-time. But I utterly miss some kind of introduction of the new hosts. Also what kind of concept you guys in charge wanted to follow. Or do you really pretend that nothing happened and try go back to regular business without any further notice?

December 31, 2017 at 12:51 PMLooks the Canadian coworker has mixed the languages and put Le Francais over English in Vocabulary. Or was that intentionally done due to the food topic :-)

December 14, 2017 at 7:30 PMGreat information. Thanks a lot. It‘s exactly like you said. After 15 months of learning Chinese parallel to job and family, it has become a real hobby. But, if I would have spend the same effort learning Chinese into learning any other European language, I would be much more fluent. But I already know English and French (as a native German it’s 3). Having additional Spanish or Italian is not that super exciting. But Chinese is fun. For me it‘s the same as Kohl mentioned: I cannot (yet) express myself. It‘s a constant melting pott in my brain. I‘m still trying different approaches to become more effective. But finally it‘s a matter of time. My listening comprehension increases, but speaking is still a weak point. And here this lesson gave me (again) some confidence that I‘m on the right track. Thank you.

October 20, 2017 at 6:47 AMDefinitely my kids are too old (youngest is 18 years) that I'm engaged in some kind of chats. However it is very interesting to get the habit behind all that chit chat. Thank you a lot for this insight.

December 7, 2016 at 8:46 PMI love this episode especially for the statements by the customers. They are spitting out these sentences as they burning their mouths.
And I do agree that the speed of the shi-b'shi is amazing. I'm still not sure whether he's saying more than the text indicates.
On the other side, as I was my first time in Australia and I was confronted with "ayt ayty" at the gas station, I have had no glue either. As a non native speaker you look like seeing a ghost the first time. Finally it became obvious a the cashier pointed at his machine: "8.80" ayt-ayty - what else.

September 19, 2016 at 6:34 PMMight it be possible that the tone-sign for "búèrjià" is not correct? Shouldn't it be bù (4T) instead of bú (2T)?

June 1, 2018 at 1:57 PMAgreed. To resolve this situation and to stop poking in the dark, it would be the very best ChinesePod-management explains themselves. What's the goal, the (new) idea or the new perspective. And also some kind of explanation what happened during the last half of a year. For example we do not even know where they have their new hosts located. I'm sorry, although the content is marvelous, the management's information strategy (if there's one at all) is a single catastrophe.
