Thanks Right-Wingnut, I suppose I've still got all these rules to learn! Having a second 3rd tone pronounced neutral is sure to be a nuisance.

Could anyone clarify whether 哪里 should be pronounced with a 3rd tone and a neutral tone respectively (nǎli) or with a 2nd and 3rd tone respectively (nálǐ)? I appreciate that during this podcast John and Dilu state it should be the former pronounciation, however Dilu then continues, later on, to use the latter! I am confused!
