I was in Shanghai at a restaurant once and before my meal had arrived I decided to practice with my chopsticks. I clicked them together exactly like Fiona is doing. Guy next to me wheeled around and started talking to me in Chinese. I told him I didn't understand so he turned back to his family. Then a few minutes later he turns around again with his phone translator "What you're doing right now with your chopsticks is very rude."

Is that normal?
