The only way I can see you justifying your viciousness is if there was previous bad blood between the two of you. (Note that my comment bears no relation to the topic being debated, on which I have no opinion.)

It is odd how someone can completely misrepresent a situation in their own mind. As a (previously) neutral observer, I see you as the only schoolyard bully in this discourse. Grambers MAY have originally misassessed the intent of your comment. Since then he has taken a conciliatory approach while still holding fast to his correct interpretation of your behavior. You have chosen to interpret this as patronizing, and there lies the insecurity.
The lesson here is that you are someone to be avoided at all costs.
