I have been thinking about both your and Victor's emails. Thank you both for your thoughtful evaluation and your care for ChinesePod. You are right. The Advanced lesson is a different kind of animal. It is not easy to strike the exact balance between content and delivery. It is true that we have been experimenting with various readers and presenters. I hear what you are saying. I will just work with a couple people to set a high standard and then will consider inviting additional people later. 祝 好。

For Android 1 and 2, we invited Professor Zhang Rei and Isaac to explain the lessons for us. We asked them to speak slowly and clearly for the recording. For Android lessons 3 and 4, we invited the author herself to present the lessons. Our goal is to provide a wider language experience for our advanced subscribers.

I agree with your point of view. I always have to teach the traditional form of country 國 when teaching the simplified form 国 . The traditional form is rich both visually and in meaning. As you know, the traditional form illustrates boundary 口, lance 戈 , land - , and people 口 , whereas the simplified form 国 inserts jade 玉 within a boundary口. Much of the meaning is lost. Did you know that calligraphers, even now, use the traditional form because of its beauty?
Thank you for taking the time to express your views. It takes people with knowledge of both systems to appreciate the value of the traditional forms. Anyway, it doesn't seem like traditional forms will be rehabilitated any time soon, so at least we can be thankful that simplified is quicker to write and for some, it's easier to learn.
Thank you for acknowledging the work that we put into this lesson.
