Can anyone give me some advice? I am going to Tawiwan soon and planning on playing a lot of pickup (so I don't get rusty), but as I will not be fluent in Chinese, I will most likely have a hard time understanding my teammates when they are yelling a bunch of things at me. What should I do when someone is trying to talk to me on the court but I don't know what they're saying?

xiao_liang: My Chinese is doing well even in the terrible teens:-). I just turned 14 in May and my parents are having me take three different Chinese classes at once, including private sessions with Helen on Chinesepod. I am going to Taiwan in March of 2012 so my parents want me to be able to speak Chinese in Taiwan.

Hi Clay! Thank you for letting me choose the lesson on my birthday. I did use those terms with the street venders, but sometimes it didn't work for the really annoying ones. I hope to visit you guys again one day. Bye! P.S. I turned 11 on my birthday :)

Thank you for all the nice comments. I think AZERdocmom (my mommy) is over-exaggerating about my chinese. I think the picture of me sleeping is not the greatest.
