June 18, 2010 at 3:23 AMI've noticed that people who find the fact of evolution unpalatable like to say things like 'not all scientists agree with Darwin's theory' or 'there is no consensus re. evolution even among scientists'. This untruth has become a kind of touchstone it seems, but mainly I think it shows that the people who use this line don't understand the way science works, let alone evolution.
Your own choice of words here is inexact and misleading catherine. There is no path from 'chimp to homo sapien'. Long ago there were ape-like creatures which were the ancestors of both chimps and us however.

对了，我觉得还有一个问题。好像那么多人不可以接受进化论，可是为什么？可能是因为人生非常短，你说呢？

The link I posted states "little or no interbreeding of Homo erectus and Homo sapiens occurred after the migration". Personally, I think it's extremely speculative to attribute Chinese facial characteristics to interbreeding with Homo Erectus. As for skulls being similar, that's a subjective thing in my view; one 'expert' will say they are similar, another will disagree.

But as for 北京猿人 meaning there's a separate origin for 东方人 from westerners, that's just not true! Analysis of DNA from humans all over the world reveal that all the people now alive are descendants of those who left Africa roughly 100,000 years ago.

June 17, 2010 at 6:49 AM难道你不是完全进化论懂的？现在在非洲肯定没有一种猴子变成人了，而很久很久以前有《古猿》，其实各种各样的古猿。这些古猿是现代猿与现代人类的祖先。说起《北京猿人》，这种猿人也是原来从非洲来的。
